Lard Arse…Old Boiler…Old Bag…Mutton Dressed as Lamb… Don’t listen to the hype - 50 is not the new 40 and 40 is not the new 30. Not for women anyway. Once we are past the heyday of our youth, apart from the skincare giants and cosmetic surgeons, nobody seems very interested in us at all. Whatever advances may or may not have been made in the fight for equality, the pressure on women of all ages to “keep young and beautiful” is even more pronounced. Using humour and subversion of everyday phrases I seek to address some of these issues in my work. I hope you enjoy it, laugh at it and then consider your own attitudes.
