In my work I attempt to blur the line between “normal” and “other”. The “norm” and “other” in this case being hetrosexuality and homosexuality. Recently it has become a show to be gay, from pride celebrations in every city and town to drag queens and make-up wearing mincers parading the gay scene. It seems that society being more accepting has allowed gay people to push the boundaries to the extreme. Despite the amount of stereotypical screaming queens out there, there are some who people wouldn't suspect as being “other”. This is the key aspect to what I'm trying to explore in my work, how the “norm” might not be as normal as people think.
