My pieces reflect a marring of the boundaries between the natural body and the artificial or man-made. A study of human biology and its relationship to technology depicted through a series of mocked medical experiments Hand drawn images are sand blasted onto glass, then overlaid to separate the dual imagery therein. In the context of science fiction film and literature from Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein to Fritz Lang’s metropolis of the 1950s, the work also has influential derivatives in the real medical museums and collections like Cappella Sansevero in Naples.
