My work is based around how we are prejudged by others in relation to our appearance or behavior which ultimately determines our status and value within society. We live in a supposedly tolerant, unprejudiced society that prides itself in being non-judgmental towards what is considered to be 'other'. This ‘other’ is in antithesis to the accepted aesthetic norms of visual perfection and ideals which have been influenced by both historical and present day attitudes and beliefs.
